BLACKPINK’s “BORN PINK” Becomes 1st Album By Female K-Pop Act To Spend 2 Weeks In Top 4 Of Billboard 200

BLACKPINK has achieved an exciting first on the Billboard 200 with their latest album!

Last week, BLACKPINK made history as their second studio album “BORN PINK” debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s famous Top 200 Albums chart (its weekly ranking of the most popular albums in the United States), making them the first female K-pop artist ever to top the chart.

On October 2 local time, Billboard announced that “BORN PINK” had remained on the chart at No. 4 for the week ending on October 8—making it the first album by any female K-pop artist in history to spend two weeks in the top five of the Billboard 200.

With this achievement, BLACKPINK has also become the first female K-pop artist in history to have two albums spend multiple weeks in the top 10 of the Billboard 200.

According to Luminate (formerly MRC Data), “BORN PINK” earned a total of 40,000 equivalent album units in its second week on the chart.
