Kelly Asbury directed Gnomeo & Juliet, a 2011 computer-animated romantic comedy film based on a screenplay by Rob Sprackling and John Smith. Gnomeo And Juliet Release

Gnomeo & Juliet had its world premiere on January 23, 2011, at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood and was distributed theatrically on February 11 by Entertainment One Films in the UK and Touchstone Pictures in the US. The film was Touchstone’s first animated feature since 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, and it was also the studio’s first and only G-rated film. Except for a few places, such as the United Kingdom and Canada, where Entertainment One Films released the picture, Disney distributed the film globally. Spoiler Alert! Miss Capulet and Mr. Montague feud in Stratford-Upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare in the movie, over whose garden is superior. When the humans aren’t looking, garden gnomes who decorate each other’s flower beds continue the competition, and gnomes from the Red Gardens don’t get along with those from the Blue Gardens. Then Gnomeo, a Blue Gnome, and Juliet Red Gnome, a Red, fall in love and face numerous challenges. In the end, though, Lady Blueberry and Lord Redbrick reunite after realizing the repercussions of their feud. Gnomeo and Juliet escape unscathed from the ruins as the two clans rejoice.
