How to Defeat Lesmes and Infanta in Blasphemous 2?

Blasphemous 2
Blasphemous 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 Metroidvania game developed by The Game Kitchen and published by Team17. Released on August 24, 2023, for platforms including Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, the game continues the legacy of its predecessor with its dark and challenging gameplay.
Players once again assume the role of the Penitent One, a silent knight, as they embark on a new adventure to prevent the resurrection of the curse known as “The Miracle” in a fresh kingdom. The game features the hallmark elements of the Metroidvania genre, offering intricate 2D side-scrolling environments filled with deadly traps, formidable enemies, and intricate boss battles.
Blasphemous 2 introduces new weapons with distinct attributes, granting players diverse combat options and aiding in exploration. The game’s development focused on refining controls based on player feedback and expanding the protagonist’s arsenal.
Artistically, the game draws inspiration from Spanish culture and history, creating a uniquely atmospheric experience. With its captivating world, engaging gameplay, and improvements over its predecessor, Blasphemous 2 offers players a challenging and immersive journey through a dark and mysterious universe.
How to Defeat Lesmes and Infanta in Blasphemous 2
During this phase, you’ll face both Lesmes and Infanta simultaneously, each retaining their original movesets from individual encounters. After enduring two full boss fights prior to this stage, fatigue might set in, but here’s where your skills need to shine for success.
Evading attacks remains consistent, but now you must consider the actions of both bosses. Lesmes behaves similarly to the previous phase, while Infanta maintains distance and launches spikes intermittently. Concentrate on battling Lesmes as in phase 1 while monitoring Infanta’s spike attacks. Treat this phase like a repetition of the first, with the additional challenge of Infanta’s hazard. Prioritize wearing down Lesmes’ health.
As Lesmes’ health diminishes, adopting an aggressive stance can help eliminate him sooner, simplifying the fight considerably. In my victorious attempt, I capitalized on Sarmiento and Centella’s lightning infusion ability to swiftly handle Lesmes, proving more effective than struggling against both simultaneously. Once Lesmes falls, focus solely on confronting Infanta, taking your time to deal damage when safe. For Infanta’s moveset details, refer to the earlier description to prepare for this stage of the battle.

Blasphemous 2 Gameplay
Similar to its forerunner, Blasphemous 2 retains its 2D side-scrolling Metroidvania gameplay. Players control the Penitent One, a voiceless knight, embarking on a fresh quest in a novel kingdom to thwart the resurgence of the “The Miracle” curse. Set after the original game’s “Wounds Of Eventide” update, the world remains fraught with perilous traps, intricate platform challenges, adversarial foes, and formidable bosses.
Non-playable characters can offer assistance or engage players in side quests. The sequel introduces an array of new weapons, each boasting distinct attributes and a skill tree, including the War Censer, the dual-wielding Rapier and Dagger, and the versatile Praying Blade, which also aids exploration and puzzle-solving. Character customization extends to equipable “rosary beads” and active spells called prayers, complemented by statues that enhance attributes when positioned strategically.

Blasphemous 2 Development
The Game Kitchen, a Spanish development team, returned to helm the sequel, striving to align Blasphemous 2 more closely with the traditional Metroidvania genre. Producer David Erosa emphasized expanding the protagonist’s weaponry to enhance combat and exploration. Notably, the team undertook an entirely new codebase for the sequel, investing 18 months to rebuild it.
Player feedback prompted control refinements. Just as with the original, the team drew inspiration from art, Spanish culture, and architecture in crafting the sequel. Blasphemous 2 was officially revealed by The Game Kitchen and Team17 in April 2023, digitally launching on August 24, 2023, for Windows PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. A premium Digital Deluxe edition with bonus content is also available.
