Cigarette Girl Plot

Raja, a dying kretek manufacturer, urges his son Lebas to find his long-lost love, Jeng Yah. Lebas, with the help of Arum, discovers that Jeng Yah is actually Rukayah’s sister Dasiyah. Through letters and memories, the story unfolds. In the 1960s, Dasiyah, facing patriarchal obstacles, falls in love with Raja, an employee.


Despite challenges, they create a unique kretek flavor called Gadis Kretek. Tragedy strikes when soldiers raid Dasiyah’s home, leading to her father’s arrest and Raja’s injuries. Raja seeks refuge with Djagad, who betrays him and steals Dasiyah’s kretek recipe.
