Diamond has developed a cult following throughout East and Central Africa. He became the first musician from Africa to exceed 900 million YouTube views in total. In 2017, Platnumz signed a record deal with Universal Music and released A Boy from Tandale, his third studio album (2018). Diamond and his record company, WCB Wasafi, signed a 360 Partnership with Warner Music Group in 2021.
