Jeremy Strong Rejected Captain America Offer, Here’s Why

Captain America is one of the beloved characters in the MCU. He was first introduced in the year 2011, with his own solo movie called Captain America: The First Avenger. One of the most respected characters in the MCU is played by Chris Evans.

Before getting injected with the super soldier serum, Steve Rogers was a normal-slim guy who use to get bullied by others. The role of young Steve Rogers was played by Evans only.

It’s now known that one actor was approached for playing young Captain America. The actor is none other than the Succession actor Jeremy Strong. But he turned down the role offered by the MCU.

Why Jeremy Strong Turned Down Marvel’s Offer?

In a recent interview with the Times, the actor mentioned why he didn’t accept the role. He reveals that Marvel needed someone to portray pre-serum Steve Rogers. He says, “They said they needed a transformational actor and would use CGI to put the actual actors gave and voice over my own. “


Jeremy reveals that he would have considered it as he had no money back then and was broke. But he adds, “It didn’t feel like what I had to offer was valued. ” So he went to New York and actually got a role of a Veteran from Afghanistan.
