Ji Chang-wook, Kim Yoo-jung share vibrant chemistry in official posters for ‘Backstreet Rookie’

With less than two weeks left until its highly anticipated premiere, Backstreet Rookie has finally dropped the main posters for the upcoming SBS rom-com drama!

Backstreet Rookie is a series adaptation of the popular webtoon “Convenience Store Saet-byul,” which tells the comical love story of 24-hr convenience store owner Choi Dae-hyun (Ji Chang-wook) and his strange but charming part-time employee Jung Saet-byul (Kim Yoo-jung).

The first two posters feature lead stars Ji Chang-wook (Melting Me Softly) and Kim Yoo-jung (Clean With Passion For Now), who both convincingly depict the playful cat-and-mouse relationship of their characters. Choi Dae-hyun wears a pink pullover hoodie paired with light-wash jeans and sneakers, unveiling his young, casual side while Jung Saet-byul’s feminine qualities and natural beauty are highlighted in her white pumps and floral minidress. She smiles and poses comfortably with Dae-hyun while the latter appears slightly skeptical and bewildered. The white, purple, and red color-themes make the title, premiere date, and airing network pop out against the vibrant yellow-orange background.

In the third poster, the two stars are joined and surrounded by other cast members including Han Sun-hwa (Yoo Yeon-joo), Do Sang-woo (Jo Seung-jun), Ahn Sol-bin (Jung Eun-byul), Um Moon-suk (Han Dal-shik), Seo Ye-hwa (Hwang Geum-bi), Yoon Soo (Cha Eun-jo), Kim Sun-young (Gong Boon-hee), and Lee Byung-joon (Choi Yong-pil).

Saet-byul is still showing her adorable smile while Dae-hyun now looks pleasantly amused. Dae-hyun’s brightly-lit convenience store is also placed over a galactic background, which gives the impression that each of the characters brings their own dash of color to the story, making it as good as something that is out of this world.
