Jungkook of BTS Surpasses Own Group In New Achievement

Jungkook’s collaboration song with American Singer Charlie Puth has witnessed great success. The song is still at the top of the list of most streamed songs by a Korean act released this year, above his group BTS’ newly released title track Yet To Come.

And now the song has a new impressive achievement in the US. “Left And Right” feat. Jungkook has now surpassed “Butter” by BTS to become the third Longest Charting Song by Korean and K-Pop Act on Spotify USA Top Songs Daily Chart. The song has now spent 122 Days inside the chart, against 121 days that butter spent in the same chart. The top 2 songs in the list, however, still belong to BTS: Dynamite at number one with 332 days and My Universe at 2 with 165 days.

Left and Right is one of the most successful K-pop releases of the year. The song has amassed more than 30o million streams on Spotify and two hundred plus views on YouTube. “Left and Right” was listed at number nine on Esquire’s list of the “11 Best Songs for Summer ’22” published in July. It was also listed at number fifteen on Cleveland.com’s “Song of the Summer 2022” list published at the start of August. The single later received a nomination for Song of Summer at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards.

“Left and Right” became Puth and Jungkook’s first top-10 entry on the Billboard Global 200 chart after accumulating 76.5 million streams globally and debuting at number five. It also debuted at number two on the Global Excl. US chart, marking Puth’s first top-10 in countries other than the US and Jungkook’s second following “Stay Alive.”

Jungkook is expected to soar in his global popularity as a soloist further as he makes his official solo debut in a few months. The singer is currently in Qatar, where he arrived today to complete a promotional schedule for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
