Kiernan Shipka roller-bladed her way into 23 on Nov. 10 when she hosted a roller-disco-themed birthday party for herself in Los Angeles. The star-studded event featured celebrity guests like Olivia Holt, Natasha Lyonne, James Marsden, Ben Platt, and Colton Haynes. For her glitzy soirée, Shipka transformed herself into the Dancing Queen à la ABBA, complete with a dramatic hairstyle of voluminous golden curls. “Gimme gimme gimme,” she captioned a photo of herself on Instagram.
Shipka’s bouncy “disco curls,” as named by her hairstylist, Clayton Hawkins, were flattened at the top of her head — per the ’70s beauty book — and puffed out on either side of her face, coiling past her shoulders. Between her voluminous hair, her glittery makeup, and the massive disco ball she carried with her that evening, Shipka’s “Super Trouper” energy was at full force.
Her makeup artist, Lauren Gott, kept the disco vibes going with brushed-up eyebrows, a glossy pink lip, and smoky silver eyeshadow with a touch of sparkle. To create Shipka’s brows and eye makeup, Gott used Dior 5 Couleurs in 079 Black Bow ($62), MAC’s Silver Hologram Glitter ($23), We Love Coco Stylo Yeaux Waterproof Long Lasting Liner in 20 Espresso ($34), We Love Coco Calligraphie De Chanel in 65 Hyperblack ($35), Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara ($28), Ardell Beauty Knotted Individual Lashes in Medium Black ($8) and Mini Black Individuals, and We Love Coco Brow Gel in Blonde ($32). On her lips, Gott used Paw Paw Ointment Lip Balm ($5, originally $9), Victoria Beckham Beauty Lip Liner #3 ($26), and Dior Addict Stellar Gloss in 092 Stellar ($32).
For the rest of Shipka’s face, Gott used Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum ($82), Instant Brightening Moisturizer ($65), and Hyaluronic Nourishing Body Lotion ($28), Cosmedix Opti Crystal Eye Serum ($104), We Love Coco Vitalumière Aqua Foundation in 20 and 30 ($50), Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder in Honey ($40), Alleven Beauty Color Shield in Pearl ($48), Prtty Peaushun Skin Tight Body Lotion in Light ($49), and MAC Strobe Cream in Pinklite ($36). She also used Colorescience Total Eye 3-in-1 Renewal Therapy Concealer in Fair ($52, originally $74) and Dermacolor Camouflage Makeup in Light to Medium Palette ($42).
Adding extra shine and color, Gott completed the makeup with We Love Coco Les Beiges Healthy Glow Bronzing Powder in Sunshine Light ($88), Les Beiges 395 Healthy Glow Bronzing Cream in Soleil Tan Deep Bronze ($50), We Love Coco Les Beiges Water-Fresh Blush in Light Pink ($50), Dior Backstage Glow Face Powder in Pearlescent ($45), Stila Cosmetics Heaven’s Hue Highlighter in Kitten ($34), and Dior Forever Couture Luminizer in 01 Nude Glow ($48).
Styled by Jordan Johnson Chung, the “Chilling Adventures of Sabrina” star completed her ’70s attire with a sequin silver dress from Oscar de la Renta’s fall 2022 collection. Shipka — who recently sparked dating rumors after she was spotted having dinner with John Mayer — styled the ensemble with a chevron Miu Miu clutch, a FoundRae Sister Hook: Classic Fob Clip Chain Necklace, and Irene Neuwirth jewelry. “Amazing!!” Alexandra Daddario commented. January Jones added, “So so so SO good.”
