Entertainer-actor Lee Seung-gi is confirmed to star in the upcoming tvN action slash thriller series Mouse.
Mouse is set in a time where technology makes it possible to identify future psychopaths through analyzing fetal DNA samples taken from the wombs of pregnant women. It centers on the dilemma each expecting mother will face: whether or not she will give birth to her child even after knowing that they have the inherent genetic characteristics of a potential criminal.
Lee Seung-gi suits up as rookie police officer Jung Ba-reum who is known for his upright and fair personality. His life takes a terrifying turn when he comes face to face with an inborn psychotic serial killer whose string of unimaginable murderous acts have set the nation into chaos.
Lee made his small-screen debut in the MBC sitcom Non-stop 5 (2004–2005) and has since starred in popular television series such as My Girlfriend Is a Nine-tailed Fox (2010), The King 2hearts (2012), A Korean Odyssey (2017–2018), and the most recent, SBS’s action drama Vagabond (2019). With previously developed skills and experience in the action genre up his sleeve, viewers are in for yet another remarkable performance from the actor.
The production team of the current project said, “Mouse contains a unique story line that sets it completely apart from past series that have psychopaths. We ask for your interest in following the plot development and character transformations.”
Mouse is penned by screenwriter Choi Ran, author behind the gripping tale of OCN’s fantasy thriller series Black (2017). It is scheduled to broadcast in the first half of 2021.
