In the same response, it is also widely said that there was no need for the film based on their court trial as the legal trial and televised recordings are available.

About the trial

The Pirates of the Caribbean actor sued the actress over her 2018 article in the Washington Post. She implied that he was an abuser and sought $50 million in damages. Later, the actress countersued him for $100 million over statements made by Depp’s lawyer Adam Walkman. So, the jury concluded that Depp tried to defame her once, whereas Amber Heard defamed Johnny Depp thrice in three different statements.

The Depp/Heard Trial

While speaking up to the leading site, the two actors starring in the roles of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, Mark said, “When I was offered the role, it wasn’t necessarily a hell yes. It’s a risky role. I had questions. If there was going to be any type of bias or sway to either side, then I really wasn’t interested.

Meghan Davis playing Amber Heard said, “Everyone was very much a believer in portraying [Heard] as a real human being and her truth as fairly as his truth, and that made me feel comfortable even though it was such a short time frame”.

Hapka added, “I knew this movie was getting made with or without me. Megan and I sat down and spoke together and she goes, ‘I’m going fully protect Amber, and you’re going to fully protect Johnny.’”

“So in doing so, in that tug of war, we can find that balance and make sure everything stays as neutral as possible,” he continued. Both the young actor were fully prepared for the backlash from their fans for this film. They knew how it will affect them and did not worry much about the same and did their job.
