After their whirlwind relationship and proposal on the most recent season of The Bachelorette, Michelle Young and her fiancé Nayte Olukoya have no plans to move in together. On the “After The Final Rose” special, Nayte boldly announced that he would move to Minnesota “very soon” after getting down on one knee. However, Michelle and Nayte are still dating long distance, with Michelle living in her home state and Nayte in Austin, Texas.

Two months after the season 18 finale aired, Michelle and Nayte are still going strong. In January 2022, the two even had a photo session for People magazine for which Michelle teased on Instagram.
Not only that, but a month later, they made their first red carpet appearance as a couple. Rihanna’s Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin companies hosted a party for the couple. At the event, they even smooched for the cameras while dressed in all-black costumes.

Because he had never been in love, many questioned whether the 27-year-old was ready to marry. Viewers perceived Nayte as a player and a walking red flag based on his portrayal on the show. When he was compared to Brandon Jones, Michelle’s second choice for the final rose, people worried she had made the wrong decision. The Bachelorette made it plain to all of her suitors that she wanted to keep her teaching career and be close to her family, therefore she wanted to stay in Minnesota. The show gave the pair $200,000 for a down payment on their new home together for the first time in Bachelor history.

However, before moving in together, the pair has disclosed that they are taking their time and researching the Minnesota housing market.
The Bachelorette couple also cleared up any misunderstandings about their wedding preparations. Michelle and Nayte revealed in December 2021, after Michelle’s season ended, that they were “considering summertime in the near future” for their wedding. Fans were hoping for a summer wedding in 2022, but Nayte told US Weekly, “Summer, we said. We didn’t include a timeline.” Michelle also mentioned that the continuing Covid-19 outbreak might cause their marriage to be postponed. The pair wants to wait until the limitations are gone before celebrating their marriage with their family and friends. It’s going to happen, it’ll be warm, but that’s all we know for now.
