Namjoon aka RM of BTS Announces Debut Solo Album ‘Indigo’

The album comes after the rapper and group leader’s two mixtapes, “RM” and “mono.”

RM of BTS has revealed information about his upcoming debut solo album, “Indigo,” which will be released next month. Following J-hope and Jin, the rapper and group’s leader will be the third member of the famous Korean boy group to present solo work this year.

On the social media website Weverse, RM announced “Indigo,” as translated by fans: “Hello. Finally. Because of you, my first album is coming out. I prepared hard for four years.”

He continued: “It’s very different from my previous work and there are a lot of fun friends included. Please support us until December 2.”

“RM has already given fans an honest look into his world through two mixtapes. Through ‘Indigo’, RM delivers his candid thoughts and feelings and showcases wide-ranging music through collaborations with various artists,” BIGHIT MUSIC added in a statement released on Weverse.

The album “recounts the incidents and experiences RM has gone through, like a journal,” according to a press release.

The release of “Indigo” will occur on December 2 at 2 PM KST. Although it is RM’s first solo album, it comes after the artist’s two previous mixtapes, “RM” from 2015 and “mono” from 2018.

When discussing the record in July, RM revealed: “I had fun working on music, I think it will be completely different from ‘mono’. “If ‘mono’ recorded my 2016 to ’18, then I think this new album serves as my diary and archive for 2019 to ’22.”

BTS members started concentrating on separate ventures earlier this year after celebrating their ninth anniversary. J-hope, a rapper, released his first solo album, “Jack In The Box,” in July.

The Astronaut, a solo song by Jin that was co-written with Coldplay, was released last month.
