Shut Down seemed like the perfect song to describe the recent twitter situation. Apparently, a lot of Twitter employees decided to quit the company as they found it hard to adjust to the new “toxic” leadership of billionaire Elon Musk. As this news became public, people on Twitter started the #RIPTwitter trend, which quickly rose to the top.
Many people picked a short clip of BLACKPINK’s Shut Down to react to the situation, and as a result the short clip has now amassed more than 5 million views.
Shut Down served as the title track for BLACKPINK’s long-awaited second studio album titled Born Pink, which was finally released in September this year after a wait of almost two years.
The girl group’s ambitious BORN PINK World Tour kicked off in Seoul, South Korea, on October 15, over a month after the release of their second album, and eventually made its way to the US.
The GG recently created history as they become the first girl group to earn more than $3 million for a single-arena US concert.
They accomplished this accomplishment with two nights of sold-out performances at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, on November 14 and 15. They made a staggering $3.297 million each night during these performances.
Before launching their second world tour, YG Entertainment said that the talented girl group will travel to numerous nations and places as part of the biggest and most ambitious world tour ever undertaken by a girl group.
In the winter of 2022, the tour, which began in Seoul, South Korea, will come to an end in Europe. The group will travel through Asia and the Middle East in 2023 up to the middle of the year, at which point they will fly to Australia and New Zealand in June and possibly add more dates for the second half of the year.
