What Happened To Donovan On Windy City Rehab?

Donovan Eckhardt, former lead contractor, and Alison Victoria, the host are facing a lawsuit for the projects that they have done during season 1. So far from what have seen it is clear that we are about witness more about the lawsuit and the fallout in the upcoming seasons. Alison was seen to blame Donovan for the issue. It was stated that the duo happened to sold a leak-plagued home to a couple. The house was featured earlier on HGTV’s “Windy City Rehab.” The case was filed against James and Anne Morrisey in late 2019, expected to be settled with a cash amount of $1.36 million. The case then had many twists and turns as it moved forward. Hopefully, we may see the drama and the further developments of the case in the upcoming seasons. There were numerous cases regarding the show and against the sellers. Even the former lead contractor has filed a case against the showrunner for defaming and for causing emotional distress. 

What Happened To Windy City Rehab? 

After season 1 was aired there were a shocking amount of lawsuits filed against the show and the former lead contractor and host. Alison and Donovan, the host and the former lead contractor are said to be still facing legal issues from one of the lawsuits. Donovan Eckhardt had filed a case against the showrunners claiming defamation and causing emotional distress. Donovan was fired from the show in 2019 and in 2021 January, Donovan Eckhardt filed a case against, Big Table Media and Discovery for $2.2 million. He said he suffered emotional distress after seeing his portrayal of him in season 2. He said, “Donovan misappropriated, embezzled or wrongfully derived money from past projects,” and showed Alison Victoria as the “unknowing, innocent victim.” Donovan’s case was dismissed by Judge O’Brien. There is no official news about the show’s new season so far. 

Is There A New Windy City Rehab Season?

As of now, the creators of the show have yet not revealed anything about the renewal of the show for a third season. The show had many setbacks so far with many lawsuits filed against the show and the other members of the show must have been really bad timing for the show. Or it could have also been a great factor that contributed for more viewers. Either way, the program producers have yet to confirm a third season so far. It is safe to say that the show is on a hiatus as of now and there are chances for the show to return. Some people are expecting the show’s return as the second season was at its’s peak when it came to drama and fall-outs. Alison Victoria, the host of the show, and Donovan Eckhardt, the former lead contractor took the major fallout. Several lawsuits were filed against them.

The popular American TV series airs on HGTV at 9: 00 PM ET and 7:00 PM ET. The show features Alison Victoria, the interior designer and the host of the show along with Donovan Echkardrt, the former lead contractor. The show is about renovating homes which are not usual homes or buildings. The houses and the buildings will be 100 years old or it might also be landmark buildings. This is what makes the show even more interesting, the challenges and the innovations they bring will without losing the antiqueness of certain buildings are unmatchable. The show first premiered in January 2019 and the second season came out in 2021. Windy City Rehab faced many issues since the inception of the second season. Alison and Donovan were facing many issues regarding a house they sold. While doing so, they were also losing their friendship. Donovan was eventually fired and was fed up with the second season. He filed a defamation case against the showrunners for portraying him as a bad person and showing Alison as an innocent person. There is no news about a third season so far.
