Yeo Jin Goo has shared behind-the-scenes stories from the upcoming film “Ditto”!
The remake of the 2000 film “Ditto” is a story of love and friendship between two college students from different time periods who coincidentally begin to converse through walkie-talkies. Yeo Jin Goo will play Yong, a college senior living in 1999, while Cho Yi Hyun will be playing Moo Nee, a second-year college student living in 2022. Kim Hye Yoon, Na In Woo, and Bae In Hyuk will make up the rest of the cast of millennials and Gen Z-ers, who will come together in this story of timeless love.
Yeo Jin Goo, who was born in 1997, talked about what it was like playing a college student living in 1995. He shared, “There was more material that I could refer to than I expected. Since the ’90s is an era I admire, there were a lot of films and dramas that I liked [from that era], and seeing those projects, I thought a lot about wanting to enter that era. I felt like I was dreaming because I could indirectly experience that era through this [project].”
In fact, Yeo Jin Goo collects LP records and enjoys listening to music on a turntable. He said, “It’s so interesting that retro is a trend now. I like music that I have to manually put LPs on the turntable for, and I like film cameras that I have to manually set up the focus and exposure for. People are curious about the time that they never experienced, and I feel like there is a romantic element in objects from old times as they exude a sincere atmosphere.”
Yeo Jin Goo expressed how much he wants to empathize with viewers by saying, “It would be nice if viewers complimented the acting or the film itself. But if I could ask for more, I would like the older generation, who were in their 20s in the ’90s, to experience heartwarming feelings after watching the film. For those who have memories of crying because of love, I would like to bring those memories back up to the surface.”
“Ditto” is scheduled to premiere on November 16!
