On March 3, Walt Disney Company revealed what kind of Korean content they were releasing through Disney+ in the Asian-Pacific region. In addition to Park Hyung Sik and Han So Hee‘s “Soundtrack #1,” and Lee Jong Suk and Girls’ Generation’s YoonA’s “Big Mouth,” Yoo Jae Suk will be hosting a brand new survival variety show. The program is titled “The Zone: Endure to Live” (literal translation) and boasts a star-studded lineup with Lee Kwang Soo and Girls’ Generation’s Yuri.
In 2022, Disney+ plans to release over 20 Korean productions, which includes at least 12 original works. Jessica Kam-Engle, the head of content and development for Disney Asia Pacific, shared, “I’m incredibly happy to be able to showcase Korean content that will capture the hearts of viewers all around the world.”
She continued, “We are focusing on digging up stories with high-quality storytelling that will have an emotional and cultural influence. As a long-term creative partner, Disney will collaborate with the most exceptional creators in the Asian-Pacific region and quickly showcase the world’s best stories in addition to local content.”
For “The Zone: Endure to Live,” Yoo Jae Suk, Lee Kwang Soo, and Yuri will combine their three unique charms. The new program will take place in an unknown virtual world and follow the one simple rule, “Just endure it, no matter what.” The trio will work with producing director (PD) Jo Hyo Jin, who has previously collaborated with Yoo Jae Suk on programs like “Running Man,” “Family Outing, “X-Man,” and more.
Other Disney+ programs scheduled for this year include the action superhero series “Moving” starring Jo In Sung and Han Hyo Joo, and “Casino” starring Choi Min Sik, Son Seok Gu, Lee Dong Hwi, Heo Sung Tae, and Kim Joo Ryoung.
