Based on the webtoon of the same name, “The Golden Spoon” tells the story of a student born into a poor family who uses a magical golden spoon to swap fates with a friend born into a wealthy family. BTOB’s Yook Sungjae stars as Lee Seung Chun, the student who hopes to turn his life around with the titular golden spoon, while Lee Jong Won plays Hwang Tae Yong, the privileged friend whose life Lee Seung Chun covets. Former MOMOLAND member Yeonwoo plays Oh Yeo Jin, a student who burns with insatiable ambition despite being the only daughter of a wealthy family.
On the previous episode of “The Golden Spoon,” Lee Seung Chun was sent off to the United States after Seo Joon Tae (Jang Ryul) used alleged evidence of his involvement in Chairman Na’s death to threaten his father.
Ahead of this week’s broadcasts, “The Golden Spoon” has unveiled exciting new stills featuring Lee Seung Chun and Oh Yeo Jin standing inches away from a kiss. Before leaving for the United States, Lee Seung Chun was clear about his feelings for Na Joo Hee (DIA’s Jung Chaeyeon), but it’s unknown whether time away from home has led to a change of heart.
Given this emotional atmosphere, viewers are left wondering whether there’s been a change in their relationship and what could have led to this shift. At the same time, Lee Seung Chun’s transformation and his bold behavior after returning home from the United States is a source of confusion for everyone around him, with no one able to pinpoint his intentions.
Additionally, after discovering Lee Seung Chun’s secret with the golden spoon, Oh Yeo Jin uses that to her advantage to make him remain as Hwang Tae Yong and get engaged to her. Although it appears that she’s now getting what she wants, she still looks uneasy, as if there’s something Lee Seung Chun is not telling her.
